How to Make Crispy Samosa at Home

Ingredients for Dough

– 2 cups all-purpose flour – 4 tbsp oil or ghee – 1/2 tsp salt – Water (as needed)

Ingredients for Filling

– 3 boiled potatoes (mashed) – 1/2 cup green peas – 1 tsp cumin seeds – 1 tsp ginger-chilli paste – 1/2 tsp turmeric – 1 tsp garam masala – Salt to taste

Step 1

Make the Dough Mix flour, salt & oil. Rub till crumbly. Add water slowly, knead to a stiff dough. Cover with a damp cloth. Rest 30 mins.

Step 2

Prepare the Filling Heat oil, add cumin, ginger-chilli paste. Add mashed potatoes, peas & spices. Cook for 3–4 mins. Let it cool.

Step 3

Shape the Samosas Divide dough into balls. Roll into oval shape. Cut in half. Form a cone, fill with potato mix. Seal edges with water.

Step 4

Fry to Perfection Heat oil on medium flame. Fry samosas till golden & crisp. Drain on paper towel.

Step 5

Serve & Enjoy! Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind dip. Perfect for tea-time or party snack!

Bonus Tip! For extra crispiness, add 1 tsp semolina to dough. Always fry on medium-low heat for flakiness!
